Our Story

VoteEquality evolved from VAratifyERA and is led by a diverse group of experienced advocates from the last three states to ratify (Virginia, Illinois, and Nevada). The team has grown to include advocates from all around the nation.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are American imperatives. To dismantle systemic inequality, these values must be priorities for policy makers in 2020 and beyond. We need your help to elevate these values in conversations and onto major party platforms. Over 165 constitutions include gender equality and so should ours.

Join us and together we can make history!

MISSION

To increase awareness that gender equality is not in the U.S. Constitution and inspire support for gender equality leaders.

VISION

To ensure the fully-ratified 28th Amendment (Equal Rights) is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution so our country is one step closer to delivering on the promise of liberty and justice for all.

THE 28TH AMENDMENT

Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

#FixOurConstitution

The Constitution is the supreme law of the United States and gender equality is missing in our foundational document. This “equality gap” negatively impacts our justice system and enables gender discrimination. Advocate so our gender equality leaders legislate for the equitable future we deserve.

#Equality4Everyone

Our Constitution was written to intentionally exclude the majority of Americans, which institutionalized the inequality we still experience today. Through amendments, legislation, and advocacy, America has become more equitable, but gender equality is still missing from our Constitution. Advocate so our gender equality leaders ensure ALL means ALL when we say, “...with liberty and justice for all.”

#TheFutureIsEqual

We instill values and ideals in kids that our country has not yet achieved. Today’s youth challenge us because the lessons we’ve taught them conflict with the reality of systemic inequality. Advocate so our gender equality leaders commit to an equitable future for generations to come.

#EqualityNotHypocrisy

Our national leaders spend time and money promoting gender equality in other countries, but not at home. As a result, our international gender equality rank continues to fall – we are currently #53 out of 153 countries. Advocate so our gender equality leaders reclaim gender equality as an American priority.
